1. Search the Libraries' online catalog, IUCAT, to find books and journal titles.

For Books:
If you know the book you want, do an author or title search. Otherwise, use the "keywords anywhere" option. This can be a good way to find what is available for your topic. Search terms should be combined with "AND".

Some examples:
Linguistics AND field notes
Luo AND ethnography
Luo and linguistics
Field work and interview
Luo and grammar
Uganda and Luo
Lincom and . . .

Use the Advanced Keyword search function to develop a more detailed search statement. Using this function, you can limit your results by language and format, and you can enter more search terms.

If you can't find what you are looking for in IUCAT, Search
You may submit an interlibrary loan request directly from WorldCat. Keep in mind that it may take 2-4 weeks for books to arrive, whereas articles can generally be obtained faster.

For Journals:
If you are looking for an article which is not available in full-text online, use the "periodical title search" in IUCAT to search for the journal title (not the article title).

2. To Find Journal Articles:
Use either print or online indexes/databases.
